PHILOSOPHY

Hi, I’m Baru—welcome to Serving Ayurveda!

Today, my work is all about helping people bring Ayurveda into their everyday lives—through nourishing food, cooking workshops, massage, and personalized nutrition and lifestyle guidance. I believe Ayurveda doesn’t have to feel complicated; it can be joyful, practical, and deeply supportive.

My journey here started long before I knew the word “Ayurveda.” Growing up in Prague, I was drawn to Eastern philosophies, spending hours in tearooms and soaking up the joyful energy of the Hare Krishna community. In my twenties, yoga became my sanctuary and opened the door to a more conscious way of living.

That path eventually led me to India, where I trained as a yoga teacher and first discovered the magic of Ayurveda. I fell in love instantly. Back in Europe, I dove deeper into its wisdom through formal study and years of practice—while continuing my lifelong passion for cooking.

With over a decade of experience as a chef, I now weave Ayurvedic principles into food, daily routines, and bodywork. Since moving to the beautiful Costa Blanca, I’ve expanded into retreat cooking, teaching Ayurvedic cooking, and guiding people toward balance in ways that feel natural and sustainable.

At the heart of it all, I want to share the profound connection between mind, body, and food—and support you in creating more vitality and harmony in your life.

Ayurveda is a living wisdom that invites us to reconnect—with nature, with ourselves, and with the rhythms of life. It’s not about rigid rules, but about awareness, balance, and joy. For me, it’s a path of empowerment that brings us back to what we’ve lost sight of: our inseparable bond with nature.

Ayurveda is more than an ancient system of healing—it’s a living wisdom that invites us to reconnect with ourselves and the world around us. It’s not about rigid rules, but about finding joy, balance, and a deeper sense of contentment in everyday life.

For me, Ayurveda is a tool of empowerment. It reminds us that we can take responsibility for our health and well-being in simple, natural ways—always with the intention of preserving and celebrating life.

What Ayurveda Means to Me

One of the most profound teachings of Ayurveda is its reminder of our connection to nature—a truth we’ve become tragically divorced from in our Western society. It teaches us that we are not separate from the natural world, but an integral part of its intricate, rhythmic cycles.

Just as the seasons change, so do our bodies, emotions, and energy. When we tune into these rhythms, we begin to live with more flow and harmony.

Another guiding principle of Ayurveda is the recognition of our uniqueness through the doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. These aren’t boxes to fit into, but gentle guideposts that help us understand ourselves with more clarity and compassion.

I also love the way Ayurveda and yoga dance together. Both offer pathways back to ourselves—strengthening the body, calming the mind, and opening the heart. They remind us that balance doesn’t have to be heavy or serious—it can also be light, playful, and full of discovery.

What makes Ayurveda truly transformative is its invitation to awareness. It guides us back to a loving relationship with our whole being, and to the great interconnected web of life.
